After studying law (Dr. jur. 1974) and economics (Mag. rer. soc. oec. 1977), he worked at the Institutes for Philosophy of Law, Economics and Sociology at the University of Graz. Habilitation in Sociology 1985. Stays abroad, among others in Maastricht (NL), at Harvard University and at the universities of New Orleans, Little Rock, Las Vegas. 1997-2001 scientific director of FH Joanneum. Corr.
